El colegio Puente III de El Astillero 'supports' el Puente de los ingleses

Los alumnos del Colegio PUENTE III en el cargadero de mineral.

 

Nearly 350 students and 50 teachers from Colegio Puente III in El Astillero will go next Monday at midday to the “Puente de los Ingleses” or Orconera’s Bridge to celebrate a supporting and recognition ceremony to this monument, recently declared  asset of local interest (Bien de Interés Local –BIL-) by the Government of Cantabria.

It is an activity which closes the project “Apadrina un monument” (“Support / Sponsor a monument”) promoted by the Consejería de Educación, Cultura y Deporte of the Government of Cantabria in order to motivate and promote attitudes of respect, appreciation and protection, in which this group of students has participated.

Among the different activities which have been developed inside this initiative are: making miniatures, writing lyrics, making posters and murals, writing essays, drawing competitions, photos, even interviews with the mayor and with the old neighbours who know both the story and the history of this monument.
