El Puente de los Ingleses
A
group of 6th Grade students from our school, Colegio Puente III,
attended the opening ceremony of the school competition “Apadrina un monumento”
(“Support / Sponsor a monument”).
The
project they will develop will be connected to supporting “el Puente de los
Ingleses”, also known as Orconer’as Loading Bridge, located in El Astillero.
Among the main aims of the Consejería de Educación,
Cultura y Deporte of the Government of Cantabria is to support culture, and
more specifically, to motivate and promote attitudes of respect, appreciation
and protection of our cultural assets through its knowledge and understanding.
The
competition consists in selecting a monument from our autonomous community
which they will symbolically “adopt”; in order to do this they will present
several studies and researches about it.
